Incoming US President Donald Trump assured President Joe Biden that the transition of power will be “as smooth as possible” during their meeting at the White House on Wednesday.
As Trump arrived in January to discuss the upcoming handover, Biden greeted him warmly.
“Okay, Mr. President-elect and former President, Donald, congratulations,” Biden began.
“We look forward to a smooth transition, we are doing everything we can to make sure you are accommodated and get what you need.
“Today we're going to get a chance to talk about some of them. So welcome, welcome back,” Biden said.
Trump responded with gratitude, considering the nature of politics.
“Thank you very much. Politics is hard, and in many cases it's not a very nice world, but it's a nice world today, and I appreciate that very much,” Trump responded.
“A transition that is this seamless is about as seamless as it can get. I appreciate it very much, Joe,” he added.
The two leaders shared a private discussion to ensure a seamless transfer of responsibilities as the inauguration approaches.
