Troops Neutralise 2 IPOB/ESN Sit-at-home Enforcers In Enugu

Troops of the Joint Task Force South-East, codenamed “Operation UDO KA”, have neutralised two members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN) while attempting to enforce an illegal sit-at-home order.

The troops, in collaboration with other security agencies like the Nigerian Navy, Police, Department of State Services and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, neutralised the thugs on Monday, July 29.

Operation UDO KA, which announced this in a statement on its forum in Enugu on Tuesday, said troops on patrol spotted three Toyota Sienna and one Toyota Highlander vehicles approaching their direction of advance from Ogbohia general area of ​​Abia State.

According to the statement, the brave soldiers chased the terrorists and contact was established with them.

During the encounter, two IPOB security operatives were killed and one of their Sienna vehicles was burnt.

“Following the operation and further investigations, a Toyota Highlander, a Toyota Sienna, a Kodak camera, Tecno phone and a Cutlass were recovered.

“According to intelligence inputs, apart from the illegally declared house sit-in from July 29 to August 3, 2024 (for a week), the terrorists had planned to hijack the national protest to unleash mayhem and wreak havoc on innocent residents of the South-East,” the statement said.

The troops advised all law-abiding citizens to avoid being used as human shields by terrorists.

Operation UDO KA appealed to the good people of the South-East to continue to cooperate with the security agencies by providing credible and timely information that would help flush out criminals in the region.

Residents were asked to provide relevant information to Operation UDO KA by dialling 193 and pressing option 2 on their phones.

The statement pledged that the Joint Task Force would continue to discharge its constitutional role of protecting life and property in accordance with best global practices laid down in the rules guiding its operations.
