The Senate has reassigned an office on the fourth floor of the Senate New Wing to former Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume.
Ndume, who recently relieved himself as Chief Whip, had the previous day rejected an office allotted to him on the third floor, saying it was contrary to Senate rules which dictate that senior senators should be allocated offices on the fourth floor.
In a letter to Ndume dated Wednesday, July 31, Senator Sunday Karimi, Chairman, Senate Services Committee, informed him that a new office had been secured for him on the fourth floor.
The letter, titled “Regarding Office Allocation” and signed by the committee’s director/clerk Siaka Abdulwahab Sadiq, said: “I am pleased to inform you that the chairman of the Senate Services Committee has approved the allocation of office number 4.31 (4th Floor), New Wing, Senate Building to you.
Please note that this letter will supersede the previous letter issued on July 29, 2024.
“Please coordinate with the Secretary, Directorate of Estates and Works located at Office No. 0.28, New Wing, Senate Building, to complete the required documentation and receive the keys.”
