Oba-elect of Isheri-Oshun in Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (ICDA), lagosAlhaji Shamsuddin Amao Mojid has denied allegations of sponsoring cultists made by a company chief.
The traditional leader insisted that he knew nothing about cultist activities in the town and that he had always maintained peaceful relations with members of the community.
Speaking on the latest allegation, the Oba-elect said the community under his leadership is angry at the illegal extortion and exploitation of resources belonging to those living in the community by some honest entities.
He said: “I was surprised to hear on the radio that someone claiming to be Michael Fatoye accused me of parading thugs. As the head of this city, everyone knows that I do not interfere in matters that do not concern me. I have no knowledge of cults or their activities. I urge the Nigerian and Lagos State governments to come to my aid, because none of my children are involved in cultism.
“We are trying to advise Fatoye regarding the land in Isheri-Osun which Chief Adewumi bought from our ancestors a long time ago. After the death of Chief Adewunmi, Almaroof was put in charge, but he died five years ago. Fatoye does not have documents proving his rights over the land.”
The community leader appealed to the Lagos State Government to intervene.
He also accused Fatoye of being involved in illegal activities.
