Mavin Records, the famous Nigerian record label founded by Don Jazzy, has ventured into film production with its debut film 'Chapter EX'.
The label announced the release of the short film via YouTube on Wednesday.
“For your viewing pleasure; Chapter EX- Mavin's short film, made by Savant @madebysavant is now on your screens. Go and enjoy,” wrote on Instagram.
Chapter EX, written by Ayomide Tayo and Ishioma Egba and directed by Daniel David, tells the story of Eve, who believes she has found her soulmate in Chijioke. However, their romantic evening takes an unexpected turn when they encounter Chijioke's vengeful ex-boyfriend.
The 11-minute film features talented actors Tomi Ojo, Daisy Osikoya and Amarachi Audu.
Mavin Records was founded in 2012 and has been instrumental in launching the careers of successful Afrobeats artists such as Ayra Star, Johnny Drille, Crayon, Rema and Ladipo.
The label has won numerous accolades, including the prestigious MTV Africa Music Award for Best Record Label in 2013 and 2014.
In February, Universal Music Group acquired a majority stake in the label.
In its statement, Universal described the record label as “the driving force behind many of the continent's Afrobeats artists”.
Don Jazzy recently appointed Tega Oghenejobo as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and President of the record label.
