Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani says the judiciary has a vital role to play in the government's continued fight against insecurity as delays in prosecution encourage criminal elements.
Speaking during the swearing-in of Justice Jafaru Zubairu of the State High Court at the Council Chamber of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, the Governor said that for the government to effectively disarm and defeat criminal elements in Kaduna State, the prosecution and the judiciary The agencies responsible should give priority to security and ensure that there is no undue delay in prosecuting suspected terrorists and bandits.
However, he promised to improve the workplace environment for judicial personnel, strengthen public confidence in the justice system, improve access to justice for citizens, and facilitate continuing education for judicial officers.

Governor Sani further said that “One of the key priorities of our administration is the revitalization of the justice sector to effectively play the role of justice delivery.
“An efficient criminal justice system is vital to building and maintaining a stable, secure and democratic society,” he said.
The Governor urged the newly appointed judge to discharge his responsibilities without any fear or favour, adding that “the oath you have taken today is to deliver justice without any delay”.
“When justice is delayed, we cause immeasurable harm to victims, accused, witnesses and the public.”
Noting that Kaduna State judges are considered among the best in the country, he urged them to “remain steadfast and maintain their integrity as the last hope of the common man”.
