The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, has rescheduled the bail hearing of whistleblower Isaac Bristol to September 17, 2024.
The hearing of the bail application was originally scheduled for today, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, but was postponed.
The defendant, represented by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, attended court and declared his appearance, but the judge did not hear the bail application as planned.
Isaac Bristol, also known as PIDOM, is on trial for alleged terrorism, money laundering, cybercrime and illegal access to classified documents.
This development followed his arrest on August 5, 2024, at his hotel room in Rivers State.
They were arrested for “committing serious offences that undermine the integrity of government operations,” force spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said.
The statement said that several charges have been filed against the suspect, including illegal possession of weapons, leaking of classified documents, cyber-related crimes, and others.
Police also alleged that journalist David Hundeyin and another man named Michael Alade are Bristol's accomplices.
