Vandalism of public property by goons
The Bauchi State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Katagum Local Government Area of the state.
This was stated in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, made available to journalists on Monday.
The government said the decision was necessary due to the deteriorating security situation in Azare and surrounding areas.
He said the destruction was because of the security situation.
Public property, theft, harassment, etc.
The statement said, “His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State has, in a bid to control the situation, approved the imposition of a 24-hour curfew in Katagum Local Government Area with immediate effect.”
The statement said that the Governor has directed all security agencies to investigate the matter and ensure that the miscreants are caught and punished.
The state government also called on law-abiding citizens to cooperate with security agencies during this difficult time.
